A factory relocation involves heavier stakes than a typical household or office move — machinery can be heavy, unevenly balanced or sensitive to vibration, and every day of downtime has a direct cost. Urban Relocations approaches factory and plant relocation as a project with a sequence, not a single moving day, and we work with your production and maintenance teams to plan around shutdown windows.

We have supported manufacturing units and small industrial setups relocating within industrial areas and across cities including Pune, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Indore and Chennai. Every factory floor is laid out differently, so the plan usually starts with understanding what machinery needs to move, its approximate weight and dimensions, and any special handling instructions from the manufacturer.

How it works

• A site survey covering machinery, raw material stock, spares, tools and office areas within the factory
• Discussion on shutdown timing so the move aligns with your production schedule
• Dismantling of machinery by trained personnel, with parts and fasteners labelled and packed separately
• Rigging and safe loading of heavy equipment using appropriate lifting methods
• Transport to the new facility and reassembly support at the destination

Machine alignment and electrical reconnection at the new site is usually best handled by your own technicians or the machine manufacturer's service team, since this needs equipment-specific expertise. Our role covers the physical relocation — safe dismantling, packing, transport and positioning at the new facility.

For plant relocations, it usually helps to move non-critical machinery and inventory first, keeping the core production line running until closer to the shutdown date. This phased approach reduces the total downtime window and is something we can plan together during the survey.

Given the value of industrial machinery, transit insurance is worth discussing for factory relocations, and we provide GST bills that are typically needed for asset records and insurance documentation. If your new facility is not ready to receive equipment immediately, short-term storage can also be arranged.
