Getting your vehicle to your new city safely

Driving a vehicle across states isn't always practical, especially during a long-distance relocation when you already have enough to coordinate. Urban Relocations offers bike and car transportation as part of our relocation services, moving your vehicle separately while you focus on the rest of the move.

This service is commonly booked alongside a home relocation, particularly for intercity and long-distance moves — for instance between Pune and Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, or any of the cities we operate in including Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Indore and Chandigarh. It also works as a standalone booking if you only need the vehicle moved.

How it works

• Share your vehicle details (make, model, condition) and pickup and delivery locations
• The vehicle is inspected and its condition noted before loading, so any pre-existing marks are on record
• It is secured onto a carrier or transport vehicle suited to the type and size of vehicle
• Transport to the destination city, followed by delivery and a condition check at handover

Before handing over your vehicle, it usually helps to keep fuel to a reasonable minimum level (rather than a full tank), remove loose accessories and valuables from inside a car, and take your own photographs of the vehicle's condition. This is a simple step that makes any condition-related discussion easier at both ends.

Transit time depends on the distance between cities and generally follows standard road transport timelines — a short intercity move within the same region usually takes less time than a move spanning the length of the country. We'll give you a realistic timeframe once pickup and delivery cities are confirmed.

For added peace of mind on vehicle transport, transit insurance is worth discussing, particularly for higher-value cars. We also provide a GST bill for the transportation charge, which can be useful for your records.
