How far in advance should I book Urban Relocations?
For a local shift, a few days' notice usually works. For an intercity or international move, especially around month-ends and school vacation periods, booking two to three weeks ahead gives more flexibility on dates and vehicle availability.
Do I need to be present for the survey?
It helps, since you can point out fragile or high-value items and any access constraints. If you can't be present in person, a video call survey is a good alternative for us to estimate volume accurately.
How should I prepare my home before the packing team arrives?
Sort out items you no longer need and set them aside separately. Keep essential documents, jewellery and daily-use items with you rather than in general packing. A decluttered home is quicker to pack and easier to estimate.
Can I pack some things myself and let you handle the rest?
Yes, many customers pack personal or low-value items themselves and leave fragile, bulky or heavy items to our team. Just mention this during the survey so the estimate reflects what we're actually packing.
What if my new home or office isn't ready on the move date?
Short-term storage can bridge this gap. Let us know the expected delay in advance so we can plan storage alongside your move instead of scrambling for it later.
Which documents should I keep ready for the move?
Keep identity proof, address proof and any society or building permissions (like a no-objection certificate for moving trucks) ready, especially for moves into gated communities or high-rise buildings with specific entry rules.
